Finding your voice

Anyone who knows me understands that I don’t like conflict. I prefer to keep everything smooth sailing. I don’t like drama. I am not an instigator. I prefer normalcy (whatever that means these days) and calm. But those that truly know me know that I am super-opinionated and feel very strongly about a variety of topics.

As I’ve gotten older (matured?), I’ve become more comfortable expressing my opinions. Perhaps it’s because I am more knowledgeable and; therefore, more confident in my opinions. Or, perhaps I don’t give a ****. Or, more than likely, it’s a combination of the two. Whatever it is, it’s a good thing. I wish I could go back and advise my younger self to care less about keeping the peace and stand up for what I believe. I encourage you to do the same - your true friends will respect your opinions, even if they differ from their own. And you will find such comfort in knowing you are being true to yourself.

Just sayin’.
